Privacy, in plain language.
Parluo uses only the information needed to run your account, payments and live translated calls. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Who is responsible
Parluo is the data controller for this service and operates from France. For privacy requests or questions, email support@parluo.com.
What happens to call audio and video
Parluo does not record or store your call audio or video. During a call, audio is transmitted in real time through our call infrastructure and sent to our AI translation provider to generate the translated voice and on-screen text. Video is transmitted only between call participants and is not sent for translation.
Call audio, generated speech and transcripts are held in the browser only for the live session. Our infrastructure providers may process transient technical data and limited safety or operational logs under their own retention and security obligations.
Information we process
- Account data: email address, authentication identifiers and optional profile details.
- Billing data: plan, payment status, transaction references and meeting allowances. Card details are collected and stored by our payment provider, not Parluo.
- Call data: display name, room identifier, chosen output language, connection state and short-lived room metadata.
- Service data: device, browser, approximate network information, error logs, security events and privacy-preserving usage analytics.
- Support data: messages and information you choose to send us.
Why we use it
We process account, billing and call data to perform our contract with you: authenticating users, creating rooms, translating speech, delivering calls and managing purchases. We use limited security, reliability and analytics data for our legitimate interests in protecting Parluo, fixing failures and improving the service. We retain financial records where required by law.
Service providers and international transfers
Parluo relies on specialist providers for authentication, payments, real-time media, AI translation, hosting, analytics and email. Some processing may occur outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are protected through adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or another lawful safeguard.
Retention
- Room metadata expires when the meeting ends or shortly afterwards.
- Account and subscription data is kept while your account is active and then deleted or anonymised, except where legal records must be retained.
- Transaction and invoice records are retained for the period required by tax and accounting law.
- Support messages are normally kept for up to 24 months after resolution.
Cookies and analytics
Parluo uses essential cookies for sign-in and security. Our website analytics do not use advertising cookies or build advertising profiles. The secure checkout page may use cookies required for payment and fraud prevention.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to certain processing. You may also complain to your local data protection authority; in France, this is the CNIL. Contact support@parluo.com to exercise a right.
Changes
We will update this page when Parluo’s processing materially changes and revise the date above.
